When I encountered the first Endless Ocean (was it PS2?), my eyebrow was raised. I’ve never seen or played a game like that before, where you’re just living. What seems to be the point? There’s no problem to be solved. I guess the major let down is you can’t actually ‘walk’ anywhere, but it’s all fixed in the second installment. So play on, friend, because working on an island might just be the life you’ll wish you have (if not already).
In this game, I have:
- Befriended dolphins and swam alongside a humpback-whale family
- Relaxed on a hammock in the morning
- Played a long-lost melody on a guitar at sunset, surrounded by friends
- Discovered new islands with a golden retriever aboard
- while looking out for the Sea-tizens in general.
The soundtrack, some sung by Celtic Woman, is divine – it’s sure to keep you playing for quiet some time.
