It's one of those movies. Sweet, light, with a touch of sadness about love, life, and death.
Bill Nighy portrays your dad. As you turn 21, he tells you every man in your family can time-travel. Pretending to yourself for a minute that you believe him, money comes first thing in your mind. But your great-great-great grandfather had done that, and, he's none the wiser nor the happier. The next thing you come up with, is love."Hm," mumbled your dad. "Massive."
Another Great Add to McAdams' Filmography
We probably know her first from Mean Girls, in which she plays the Mean Girl. In line with that character is The Family Stone, as the mean sister. And then there's The Notebook. But in two other movies, including this one (the other: The Time Traveller's Wife), she plays that beautiful, perfect sweet girl that you want to make your wife, and you'll always want to come back to - even though you can time travel. I like to think this is the "Prince Charming" version for Martian dreamers. But sorry lads, if that's true, as in the Venusian version, you know those Princesses are very hard to come by.

The Charm of a British Bloke
Didn't realise till Googling it that Tim is played by Domhnall Gleeson, who plays Bill Weasley in the Harry Potter movie. Love, love, love to see how he portrays Tim, growing up from an awkward young lad into a husband and a father.
Thought it was very naughty of Tim to have a third go of his first night together with Mary, but the moment he hesitates in front of his first love's flat - I realised it would be much, much worse if he allowed himself to come in.
All in All
It was a happier side of looking at things than The Time Traveller's Wife. Well done Mr. Curtis!
